For more than 20 years, the Doremi Preschool has been catering a diverse student body of over 100 students of different nationalities each academic year. We have carefully implemented a rich, international program for our students, using English as our primary language and with conceptual learning strategies to cultivate the early stage learning experience.
This stage is the transition from home to school, which is a major step for both children and parents, thus we work closely with the parents to make this move as smooth as possible, taking into account the specific needs of each child.
Our vision is to prepare our students with the character, knowledge, and skills necessary to make a positive impact on the world. Most importantly, we support and love all our students so they feel safe and will cultivate a positive approach to life.
Doremi Preschool offers a healthy, nurturing and stimulating environment, allowing our students to be brave and adventurous as they learn and grow. In a way, Doremi Preschool offers the children a world of unlimited possibilities.
The curriculum used in our Preschool is planned within the following areas of learning and experience.
School Days: Monday - Friday
After-school Activities : 12:30 PM - 01:30 PM
After-school Daycare : Upon request
At this stage, we offer the little ones motivating and fun activities to instill a love for school and to develop their natural curiosity. We will facilitate a smooth transition from their home environment to their new surroundings. Inspiration as well as a sense of safety are essential for a child’s development so we offer interesting and upbeat activities at this stage. The little ones learn to interact and communicate with their friends and teachers in a meaningful and safe way, which will also improve their linguistic intelligence.
During the Pre-Nursery classes, children will discover the Nursery experience, in which we engage them with multi-sensory activities. During the activities, we also introduce some basic objects, patterns, and language skills. They will learn how to develop fine and gross motor skills and explore the world with their five senses, with help of a variety of activities.
Nursery (3 - 4 years)
In Nursery class, the children will make a start with subject-based learning by introducing a variety of objects and concepts from their direct environment. They will also continue to further develop their independence. Our students will intuitively discover concepts, discover and decipher their emotional intelligence, solve simple problems, and learn self-care skills.
The child in this level is supported within the framework of a carefully designed curriculum and preparation for Preparatory class. Basic math and language skills (phonetic alphabet and reading) are also introduced during this stage. Students learn to treat themselves and others with kindness and respect. This will also improve their self-discipline and build and develop their character further.
At Preparatory level, we start to engage the students in the necessary preparation for Primary school. We introduce the basic Cambridge Curriculum during the daily school activities where they further develop their math and language skills. Students learn the basic reading skills through our phonetic reading program and they will be working on classification, sorting, measurements, and arts. Preparatory students are guided towards making their own choices in order to discover their personal interests and to develop an authentic sense of self.
Equipped with air conditioners, our classrooms offer a safe, child-friendly and colourful space to maximize the learning process. We restrain each class capacity to facilitate an adequate attention span as well as to improve the communication process between students and students/teachers.
Filled with Preschool books, from fairytales to dictionaries, we instill the love of books and encourage our students to see a glimpse of the world through stories and illustrations. The rich illustrations and fascinating stories in the books help the students develop English language skills.
Our students’ daily activities include free playtime on both our indoor and outdoor playground. They develop motor skills through crawling, walking, climbing, and running and learn to socialize in a orderly manner with their schoolmates.
Our outdoor swimming pool familiarizes our students with water in a safe environment. With regular maintenance and cleaning, we assure a high level of hygiene and safety for the children to splash around the pool.
Our students are introduced to the magical world of music and rhythm as part of their sensory learning experience. In our music room, they are able to practice dancing, singing, and moving. They will discover a variety of musical instruments under the teacher’s guidance. The music room is also used for some of our after-school activities and for audio visual learning.
Doremi Preschool offers a varied after-school program. We organize English classes, Ballet lessons, Drawing and Coloring lessons, Vocal Class, Hapkido, and Art. The program is designed to enrich our pupils’ interests and discover their preferences. We also provide an after school daycare facility. For this service, we are open for external visitors.
